PINS 3-26-2010

Postby san martian on Tue Mar 30, 2010 9:21 am

Kyle and I got down to PINS thursday night and camped in the 20's, we awoke friday to light weed and plentiful whiting. Fished through the AM and boxed a nice 27" red on cut whiting.

Seems like we had a decent spot but we anxious to check out things down south. We stopped and talked to Billy at the turtle shack, he said things were slow slow slow..but right as we were leaving his client hooked up and then quickly broke off. Humm were things starting to get fishy? Got to the 40's , recognized Keager from EC and stopped for a chat. He reported Jackfish and cownose, just what we wanted to hear! Went down a mile or 2 and set up, quickly got a BT on my new LDX & little Avet combo. We ran some baits and I picked up this larger preggo BT (Jackfish steak) and a little later Kcon got his BT (on whole whiting).

We each had a couple big baits out all weekend( fresh Jackfish), something kept messing with mine but no hookups.

No fish at all Saturday, Sunday we headed back

Another sighting of intrest was a large Tripletail in the Wade gut, it didn't stick around very long. I've never seen one before..
